J.B. Pet Sitting was started by me (Jacqui Dufault). Throughout my employment history, I held customer service, retail and office management positions, but always dreamed of a career such as pet sitting. I had loved and cared for pets since early childhood as well as rescuing all the stray, injured and abused animals I encountered. I had recently adopted an abused puppy with extreme separation anxiety.

My previous job allowed me to keep him with me at work which was great for his self-esteem and socialization. I knew that I could not bear to leave him at home alone all day. As I considered this, I knew that he and I could not be the only ones in this situation.

On May 1st, 2000, J.B. Pet Sitting was officially born and I vowed “To be there for your best friend when you cannot”.

My current pet family consists of Chief (that puppy’s all grown up) a blue heeler lab cross. the cats Minou and Marblehead, Buddy the rabbit, Claw the hermit crab, and the koi and goldfish.

Since 2000, more pets have required the love and worry free care that J.B. Pet Sitting clients have learned to rely on than even I could provide.

There are now 6 sitters throughout Winnipeg and now in Headingley. All are pet owners and as passionate about their care as I am. They come from varied backgrounds such as child day care and teaching, (same idea – just now with hairier children) vet technician, groomer and of course all animal lovers!

It is my personal guarantee that we will spoil your baby as much as you do!
